Practical guide
Care checklist
A preparation guide for situations where education is not enough and qualified professional care may be the safer next step.
Step 1
Write down what changed
Note timing, symptoms, severity, recent health changes, and whether the concern is sudden, recurring, or getting worse.
Step 2
List relevant medications and conditions
Include recent medication changes, sleep, stress, pregnancy or postpartum context, and other health information a clinician may need.
Step 3
Bring focused questions
Ask what may need examination or testing, what is safe to try now, and what signs should prompt faster follow-up.
Seek timely professional help for pain, bleeding, infection symptoms, sudden function changes, medication concerns, coercion, or severe distress.
